Call for Workshop Papers

Enhancing Knowledge in Management of Manufacturing Systems: Best practice

The workshop will be held at EAI MMS 2021 – 7th EAI International Conference on Management of Manufacturing Systems

Workshop Organizers

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lucia Knapčíková, Technical University of Košice, Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies, Slovakia

Dr. Jozef Husár, Technical University of Košice, Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies, Slovakia

Scope

The workshop Enhancing Knowledge in Management of Manufacturing Systems: Best practice, aims to create a network together with academics, researchers and practitioners from Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, Information and Communication Sector, Cybersecurity, IoT Systems, etc.. The unique combination of fields and disciplines are focused on Industry 4.0 and provide opportunities to create a bridge between science and practice.

Improvement and maintenance activities are parallel to each other. Just as we need to keep performance at the required level, we also need to look for new methods, technologies, more efficient equipment. The relationship between the two components should reflect the hierarchical position in the company. Top management should devote most of its time to improvement activities with the strategic view of the company, market requirements and the strength of competition. Our ambition is to create networking among universities and companies.

Topics

Nowadays, cooperation between universities and companies is essential for research and education. In recent years, collaboration has rapidly increased, and various programs and projects are being implemented to support them. There are many examples in university cooperation with industry from which it is possible to learn. It is important to remember that this cannot be an uncritical takeover of existing systems from abroad. Still, it is necessary to select tools and forms that can be implemented and adapted to current conditions.
