The Conference is dedicated to Prof. Ján BUDA, DrSc., who celebrates his 90's birthday on 16th August 2016

Dr.hc. prof. Ing. Ján Buda, Dr.Sc. is one of the two founders of the first edition of International  Conference on Manufacturing Management Systems. The conference was held in Presov on 18-19th November 2004. Thanks to his engagement and highly professional approach, he significantly contributed to the success of the conference.

This first conference on Manufacturing Management Systems received 95 papers from 11 different countries. Prof. Buda presented the keynote paper titled “Synthetic Culture in Management for Production Stability and Growth”.

Prof. Buda was Dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty from 1962 to 1967, and from 1972 to 1990. He is a emeritus fellow of CIRP - The International Academy for Production Engineering in Paris.

He has published 8 monographs and contributed to several highly reputable international journals. His research works are frequently cited and his international reputation is recognized among wide research community.

He was awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Technical University of Kosice in 1999 based on his particular contribution to the science and education.
